Legendary spinner Shane Warne has said that he is confident of India winning the T20 World Cup 2016. In the question answer session on twitter, Warne said that India are favourites to lift the trophy. Earlier, India had won the 1st edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007 at South Africa under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
When asked about the coaching role, Warne said that he is looking to coach an International side once his children are done with their schooling. Warne was the coach & captain of the Rajasthan Royals side when they lifted the 1st IPL trophy way back in 2008, when everyone labelled them as the worst team of the tournament before it began.
T20 World Cup 2016 will start March 15th and will end of 3rd April 2016. The tournament will be played in 2 rounds where 8 teams will compete each other other in the first round to book a place in the 2nd round, where Top 8 teams are already placed.
Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Scotland, Ireland, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Afghanistan and Oman are the 8 teams which will play in the first round to qualify for the 2nd round.
On being asked about his personal best ground in India, he was quick to reply Mumbai’s Wankhade as his personal best.
