(SSC) Staff Selection Commission
Staff Selection commission, SSC, is a government of India undertaking organization, the duties of it includes recruitment of candidates for various vacancies present in various Departments and Ministries present in the Indian government. SSC is attached to Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), SSC has one chairman with a couple of members and a secretary & controller of Examinations. The position is in par with the position of Additional Secretary of the Indian Government. In May 21st 1999 SSC functions are modified by the Indian Government through Ministry of Personnel of Public Grievances and Pensions. From June 1st 1999 the new constitution of SSC came into force.
